Wiltshire Council Local Plan proposals for Melksham
Ahead of the local plan consultations that take place next week, WC has published its proposals for housing development in and around major settlements up to 2036. The background to the proposals for Melksham are here. Figure 3 on page 15 sets the town in its wider rural context and illustrates the limits to development.
The actual proposals are in the site selection report here. Figure 4 on page 26 shows the sites deemed appropriate for development. There are few surprises in the 17 blocks of land identified. Blocks 5 to 7 are the ones that lie just north of the Kennet & Avon canal adjacent to Semington parish. The parish council will be discussing the plan at its next meeting on February 10th.
