Old News in the Wiltshire Times
The story this week in the Wiltshire Times about 26 houses being refused planning permission in Semington is not new. It was first reported on this website in April when the high court told the planning inspectorate to re-run the developer’s appeal because of a mistake in law by the inspector who originally heard the case last year.
The planning inspectorate was forced to re-issue the notification of the new appeal this week because it had used the wrong reference number on the original correspondence – something spotted by our eagle-eyed Clerk to the parish council. It was this re-issuing that the Wiltshire Times saw and assumed it was new.
The Times did not bother to mention – what we all know but maybe it doesn’t – that the developer was granted planning permission for 20 houses on the same land.
